I remember the years I lived in Virginia when we would hear about a huge snowstorm was headed our way. The grocery stores would be packed with people who suffered from what I call a "subdued panic". Shelves of water and bread were empty after the grand rush and milk was no where to be found. The buzz in the air was always about how much snow we would get and how long we would be "trapped" in our homes. It appeared to me that for most people in the check-out lane, they could be trapped for about 3 weeks, no problem!
But at what cost? I'm not talking about financial cost necessarily, but rather time, energy, emotional and physical.
Kansas City got hit with a major storm yesterday, dumping 8-15 inches across the metro. The day before the storm, I sat in my home, calmly working, THRILLED that I didn't need to rush out to the store for ANYTHING. Milk? If we need it, we have our Thrive instant milk powder, which, by the way, tastes as good if not better than milk in the store. Water? Plenty. Even if the pipes had frozen or lines had broken, we have our Shelf Reliance water containers ready, full and prepared. Food? No problem! I just pulled out my Thrive can of scrambled egg mix and whipped up some yummy scrambled eggs with Thrive rehydrated onions and peppers, and voila, a meal...simple but nourishing.
I never had to leave my house...thus, I didn't use any gas, I didn't use any precious time, and I didn't exert any extra energy to try to prepare; I WAS ALREADY PREPARED!
I encourage you to visit my website HERE and save yourself the time, energy, concern, and gas money and get your house and family prepared for situations like bad snowstorms or power outages or out of town guests "popping in", or whatever other "emergency" scenario you can envision. It's easy, convenient, cost-effective, and best of all, I can help you!
