Post Thanksgiving Turkey Soup!

Our guests simply did not eat enough turkey, so we were left with lots left over!  Have no fear, Thrive is here!

After indulging in just about as many turkey sandwiches and post Thanksgiving turkey meals as I could, I decided to take the last 2 pounds of turkey remaining from our 20 pound bird and make a fantastic turkey soup, using, of course, Thrive ingredients!

Turkey Soup Made Easy!  (5 min. prep time because I didn't have to cut, chop or dice anything!)

2 pounds of sliced/chopped turkey (cooked or uncooked...ours was already cooked)
1/2 cup Thrive freeze-dried onions
1/2 cup Thrive diced carrots
1/4 cup Thrive green onions
1 Tblsp. diced garlic
2 cups Thrive vegetable broth
6 cups of water
1 Tblsp. Thrive Chef's Choice Spice
Salt and pepper to taste

Throw everything in a big pot, simmer on low for about 4 hours and you have an amazing turkey soup!

Mother Earth News Fair

I can't believe it's been nearly a month since I last blogged.  So sorry to any of you who are regular readers out there!  Life sure gets busy, doesn't it?

I am now recovering after a FABULOUS fair in Lawrence, KS where four of us independent consultants had a Thrive Life booth!  It was the Mother Earth News Fair, and fair organizers expected about 10,000 people.   Apparently they definitely exceeded that number of people...and I think almost all of those people came by our booth over the course of two days!  Whew!  I LOVE IT, though!

I love meeting people, introducing them to the fantastic freeze-dried food we have, the top-line emergency products and the famous rotating shelving units!  Mostly, I love making new friends and building relationships with people from all over who come to these fairs.

Hats off to my amazing booth-mates, Lindsey Hankins, Janelle Bird, and Kerry Black who are wonderful representatives of this cutting-edge business!

If you have not seen our products, follow THIS LINK to my website.  You can view all of our products, and even sign up as a new customer so you get the VERY best prices on everything!

Modified Shepherd's Pie

Ok, here is a WINNING recipe, incorporating Thrive products.

http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/sweet-potato-shepherd-s-pie

I used Thrive Tomato Sauce, Thrive milk, and Thrive chopped onions.  I eliminated the corn because we don't really like corn, but you could also incorporate Thrive sweet corn if you wanted to!

Spaghetti sauce

Last evening, we enjoyed homemade spaghetti sauce from ingredients in our garden.  Now, we both love meat, so I decided to toss in some Thrive cooked and diced turkey.  I didn't bother to re-hydrate it; I simply tossed it in the sauce and allowed the liquid in the sauce to re-hydrate it.

What you see pictured is the left-over sauce...this was the easiest, healthiest and quickest spaghetti dinner I've prepared my entire life.

Here is a LINK to all the meats and beans from Thrive Life.  It's nice to know there are still places with anti-biotic free, extra hormone free healthy meats!

Thankful for Thrive!

I'm sure I have blogged about this before, but this is fresh once again!  Thrive foods are not just for the future...they are for TODAY!  Yesterday, we made guacamole and used Thrive onions in our guac!  Yummy!  Didn't have to chop, cry or clean up anything!

In addition, my husband is in transition between jobs...thus, we are digging into our Thrive food and don't have to stress about whether or not we can eat this month.  Plus, we don't have to drain our savings to buy food...it's already on the shelves.

Wouldn't YOU love to have this kind of peace of mind?  Plus, instead of filling your kids' lunch boxes with snacks that have tons of preservatives, why not fill them with AMAZING snacks from Thrive.  Check it all out here:  THRIVE LIFE!

Pizza!

I made pizza for the first time in probably 10 years last night.  I didn't buy pre-made sauce; instead, I pulled out my Thrive tomato powder and my Thrive spices and made my own sauce.  We needed meat to put on the pizza, so I re-hydrated Thrive cooked beef and put that on the pizza, along with garden grown veggies.

Voila, we had an amazing pizza with very little effort!

Grab your tomato powder here:  THRIVE TOMATO POWDER.  Start making some amazing tomato based soups, creams, and sauces today!

The latest news report

Two nights ago, we were watching the national news.  The lead story highlighted the serious problem of the Cyclospora bacteria which has found its way into the food supply in a number of states.  One of the women they interviewed, who had been exposed to this bacteria and fallen very ill, said these words:

"I don't know what to buy; I don't know where to eat."

Another statement made during the newscast caught my ear:

"Fruit and vegetable prices will rise 10% by the end of the year."

The reality of what is happening is unfolding much more quickly than any of us expected.  This is where THRIVE LIFE comes in!

For the woman who doesn't know what to buy, start reallocating some of your current food budget to Thrive Life foods.  You are getting high quality, non-GMO, nutritious and delicious foods that have been freeze-dried and are easily re-hydrateable (directions are on each can), that will last you 25 years in their unopened cans.  Open them, and you have between 6 months and 2 years to consume the food.

For those who don't see their paychecks going up 10% by the end of the year to cover the rising cost of food, why not make an investment in Thrive foods so that you have tomorrow's food on your shelves at today's prices?

Thrive is so easy to order, to have delivered straight to your door and to cook with.  HERE IS A LINK TO THE AUGUST SPECIALS!  Every month, Thrive has food and emergency products on sale.  Why not start today!  You can contact me through the above link and get started!

There's no better time than now, when food supplies have been compromised by disease and food prices are on the rise.  Bring some peace of mind to you and your family and begin Thriving!

Sauces

Last night, I had to whip up a quick dinner.

Spaghetti.

I cracked open the Thrive tomato sauce.....and opted to use it "as is" as the spaghetti sauce so I could really taste it.

YUMMY!!!!!  It's amazing as is straight out of the can, but I cannot WAIT to dress it up....and talk about easy:  add the powder to water and in 5 min. you have your sauce ready to go!

Check out all the sauces RIGHT HERE!

Shabbat and Thrive

My husband and I love celebrating the Sabbath.  It's a wonderful time for us to wind down, rest and spend time focusing on important things:  the Lord, each other, friends, family, etc.  Work is set aside for one day and one of the ways I'm learning to incorporate Thrive into our Sabbath is to prepare a meal in advance, using Thrive foods.  It's easy, quick, and all we had to do was heat up the casserole I'd tossed together the day before.  :-)

Casserole recipe:

1 1/2 cups of THRIVE seasoned chicken slices
1 cup of THRIVE green beans
1 cup of THRIVE sweet corn
1/2 cup of THRIVE green onions
2 cups of THRIVE instant brown rice
Shredded parmesan cheese
THRIVE Chef's Choice seasoning

Re-hydrate all the THRIVE ingredients as indicated on each can.  Cook the brown rice as directed on the THRIVE can.  Toss all ingredients together in a square glass dish. Add about a Tbsp. of the Chef's Choice seasoning and mix well. Sprinkle the cheese on top.

You can either cook it immediately in the oven for about 15 min until everything is hot, or you can put it in the refrigerator and heat it later.

Fast food alternative that is actually HEALTHY!

My hubby and I went bike riding this past weekend and enjoyed the gorgeous weather!  We really didn't want the ride to end, but we had an event in the evening that we needed to prepare for...and I remembered we needed to bring a main dish.  Well, arriving home at 4, knowing I had to leave at 4:45 and what had to happen in 45 minutes included preparing a main dish as well as showering and getting dressed, I began to weigh my options.  Of course I could have run to a fast food place and picked up a bucket of chicken or some Chinese food, but who knows what's in those dishes these days, and the cost in both time, gas and cost of the food to feed 8 people were all counted and promptly dismissed as an option.

Instead, I opened my cupboard and pulled out two Thrive Express main dish packets of Southwestern Style Chicken and Rice.  In just 15 minutes, I had prepared a main dish for 8 people.  No rush, no extra money, no "unknown ingredients", and a healthy dish ready to go, with plenty of time for a quick shower!

Why not check out THRIVE EXPRESS HERE yourself and watch how much money you end up saving as well as how much healthier you end up eating!

How prepared are you for emergencies? How about to help others after disasters?

I love hearing about the out-pouring of help that takes place after disasters like the tornado which just hit Moore, OK.  So many people need so much.

Thrive Life not only has food products, but also emergency supplies.  You can find everything from water filters to stoves to tents and snake bite kits.

Today, I am highlighting the Steripen Sidewinder, an amazing, battery free, UV water purification system that purifies 8,000 liters of water!  Having one of these on hand after the power goes out, on a camping trip, after a tornado blows through, or for any other "emergency" situation would bring peace of mind, and fresh water, free of bacteria and viruses.

The power of good food!

Yesterday, I had a conversation with one of my consultants at Thrive Life.  This friend's daughter had Lyme's disease which went undetected for years, thus causing major problems in her body.  Not only was she completely exhausted for years, but also, some of her major organs were deeply impacted in a negative way by the disease.  She is recovering now, but apparently, with this disease, one's mineral counts are extremely high.

My friend told me that her daughter can tell in an instant upon tasting food whether that food will help her and give her more energy or completely deplete her.  In fact, her body has become so sensitive that she can simply hold a food at the grocery store in her hand and determine if that food will help or hinder her.

Enter THRIVE.  Clearly, this family was a bit leery about the freeze-dried foods, given the daughter's issues.  However, what they have found is nothing short of remarkable!  The Thrive foods are REALLY good for her body, and even the meats!  (This isn't surprising because they are anti-biotic free!)  Each month they test a new Thrive food to see how her body reacts.  Without fail, every food product so far has been beneficial to her body!

This is such a tremendous testimony to the quality of Thrive foods!  GO HERE TO FIND OUT MORE AND ORDER YOUR FOOD TODAY!

Consultant perks!

People often ask me "So what are some of the perks of being a consultant with Thrive Life?  Why should I do that as opposed to ordering as a regular customer or simply getting on the Q?"

There are three simple answers:

1.  Monthly commission checks
2.  Free Food
3.  1/2 priced food

Three months ago was a very "lean" month for me business wise.  However, I held an online party and here is my FREE FOOD that I received:

Of course this was in addition to my small commission check.  So, the opportunity is available for you as well.  You can host a party (you simply invite the guests and I show up and do the party for you) and you earn free food based on the sales for that party, or you sign up to be an independent consultant like me and earn commission AND free food!

Food prices

Cruising down the road yesterday and listening to the radio, I heard the announcers having a discussion about food prices.  It was in the context of preparing for Memorial Day celebrations, which often include cooking burgers on the grill. Apparently, there has been a significant increase in the price of beef lately.  The explanation given is the drought.  They went on to say that it's not just beef that has increased, but all the "fixins" that go along with creating great burgers.  In other words, all food prices are increasing.

One of the things that Thrive Life can do for ALL of us is help us fight food inflation.  You see, when you invest in Thrive foods, you are investing today's dollars into tomorrow's food.  Doing so puts you and your family in a position to be able to do more with your money...give, serve, love others, etc.  The beef you buy from Thrive Life today is at today's prices but will still be good 5 years from now....even 25 years from now if left unopened on your shelf or in your home storage.  Let's say prices of beef increase next year even 3%....you will have saved money because you will have that non-GMO no antibiotics beef on your shelf, which you can choose to use or save for another day when you may need it.

It's really quite simple, but NOW is the time to act because Thrive Life's costs will also go up.  Visit MY WEBSITE HERE to begin shopping for tomorrow's food today!  Contact me through the site with any questions!

An easy apple pie recipe

I made this AMAZING recipe the other day with my Thrive ingredients:

                                  Apple pie (The Swiss way)

Ingredients:  Pie crust, 4 granny smith apples peeled and sliced thinly (I know you could use THRIVE apples, but didn't have any on hand), 4 rehydrated eggs from Thrive whole egg powder, 1 1/2 cups of rehydrated Thrive milk, 1 tsp. Stevia, almond meal.

Directions:    Pre-heat oven to 375 (F), place pie crust in pie pan (sprinkle with almond meal if you want), place sliced apples in pie crust, combine eggs, milk and sugar in a bowl and pour over apples.  Place in oven until apples begin to brown and crust is lightly brown.  YUMMY and EASY!  I LOVE MY THRIVE!

Hot spiced chai tea

For my birthday, a friend gave me a bag of hot spiced chai tea mix.  All I have to do is add hot milk.  Well, we don't have any "traditional" milk here at home, so I have a choice:

Run out to the store and get some milk, wasting time, spending money on gas and the milk;   OR

Open up my THRIVE instant milk can which I opened about 3 months ago, mix up just the amount I will need for the tea; I am saving money, time, and I KNOW that the milk has come from anti-biotic free cows!

You too can simplify your life, save time, money and cut down on waste.  Just check out THIS LINK TO GET YOUR OWN THRIVE MILK AND OTHER PRODUCTS!

What a blessing to be a blessing to my family and others!

Quick, easy recipe

I had to whip up a main dish in about 1/2 an hour yesterday, and as I weighed my options, I chose this:

Arden's Beef and Rice

1 pound THRIVE freeze-dried cooked ground beef (re-hydrated in warm water in 15 min.)
4 cups Basmati Rice (cooked in 20 min)
1 cup re-hydrated THRIVE spinach (1 minute)
3/4 cup re-hydrated THRIVE onion (about 4 minutes)
2 cloves fresh garlic

Mix all ingredients together in a skillet, add salt and pepper to taste and serve.

Can you say easy?  Fast?  Tasty, nutritious, and much better than running out to pick something up to take with us to a pot-luck!

Minnesota Home Show

One of my favorite things to do now is having a booth at expos and home shows!  This past week, three of us were in Minneapolis, MN at the Home Show in their convention center downtown.  I love everything about it:  meeting people, introducing them to Thrive Foods and Shelf Reliance, making connections with different businesses who also have booths at these events, and of course seeing new parts of the country!

What amazed me most about this home show was of the hundreds and hundreds of people we talked to, VERY few of them had ever even heard of Shelf Reliance and Thrive Foods!  I kept telling each person, "This would be a tremendous business opportunity for you as the market is WIDE OPEN here!"

We shall see if those folks jump on board and take advantage of the great business opportunity!  Here is a LINK FOR YOU TO CHECK OUT THE OPPORTUNITY!

Snowstorm? No problem!

I remember the years I lived in Virginia when we would hear about a huge snowstorm was headed our way.  The grocery stores would be packed with people who suffered from what I call a "subdued panic".  Shelves of water and bread were empty after the grand rush and milk was no where to be found.  The buzz in the air was always about how much snow we would get and how long we would be "trapped" in our homes.  It appeared to me that for most people in the check-out lane, they could be trapped for about 3 weeks, no problem!

But at what cost?  I'm not talking about financial cost necessarily, but rather time, energy, emotional and physical.

Kansas City got hit with a major storm yesterday, dumping 8-15 inches across the metro.  The day before the storm, I sat in my home, calmly working, THRILLED that I didn't need to rush out to the store for ANYTHING.  Milk?  If we need it, we have our Thrive instant milk powder, which, by the way, tastes as good if not better than milk in the store.  Water?  Plenty.  Even if the pipes had frozen or lines had broken, we have our Shelf Reliance water containers ready, full and prepared.  Food?  No problem!  I just pulled out my Thrive can of scrambled egg mix and whipped up some yummy scrambled eggs with Thrive rehydrated onions and peppers, and voila, a meal...simple but nourishing.

I never had to leave my house...thus, I didn't use any gas, I didn't use any precious time, and I didn't exert any extra energy to try to prepare; I WAS ALREADY PREPARED!

I encourage you to visit my website HERE and save yourself the time, energy, concern, and gas money and get your house and family prepared for situations like bad snowstorms or power outages or out of town guests "popping in", or whatever other "emergency" scenario you can envision.  It's easy, convenient, cost-effective, and best of all, I can help you!

Thrive Ground Beef

Many folks are interested in SEEING what the different foods look like that have been freeze-dried.  So, I took this picture of my ground beef, which I took out of the can and rehydrated in some warm water for 15 minutes, and then used in a stir-fry.  Voila!  Easy, VERY tasty, and economical.  Why economical?  I bought this ground beef about three months ago and opened it then to make another dish.  But since these products have a 6-18 month OPEN shelf life, I just reached in my cupboard, pulled out the can, and had fresh ground beef ready to eat in 15 minutes.  No running out to the store, no thawing frozen ground beef, no hassle, and a quick meal ready in 20 minutes!

Another Thrive recipe...along with Visalus shake mix!

Ok, I realize I am now combining my THRIVE products with my VISALUS protein shake mix in recipes and they are turning out to be YUMMY! Here is an amazing recipe I just made:

I just made the most incredible Pumpkin Thrive and Vi-cookies. Here is the recipe, which I chose to double because we like to share...and eat. :-)

Pumpkin Vi-cookies

1/2 cup organic refined coconut oil (shortening)
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs (reconstituted THRIVE eggs)
1 1/2 cups pumpkin (ours was from our home garden last summer!)
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 cups flour
1/2 cup VISALUS shake mix
1/4 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup slivered almonds (recipe calls for 1 cup chopped nuts and 1 cup raisins)

Cream shortening, sugars and eggs together. Blend in pumpkin and lemon juice. Add sifted dry ingredients, nuts and raisins and mix together. Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheet. (Cookies will puff up) Bake 12-15 minutes at 375 degrees.

One could easily use Thrive sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, and baking soda!  The best part was that I did not have to run out to the store to buy EGGS!!!  Saved time, money, energy, and so I was able to accomplish other things!  LOVIN' IT!

My husband, Paul Czaszewicz said, "These are REALLY good!" He took a few in to his colleagues today.

February Specials!

I am thrilled to see that one of this month's specials is Tomato Powder!  I believe this is fast becoming one of my favorite products.  Just this morning I was making a beef barley stew recipe which calls for a 15 oz can of tomato sauce.  I pulled out my Thrive Tomato Powder, added some water and made my own tomato sauce!

May I suggest that you invest in some tomato powder this month as it is at a very good price at $31.69 for a #10 can!  You can make your own paste, your own spaghetti sauce, soup or whatever and remember, the tomatoes are picked at the peak of ripeness and then freeze dried so that it locks in all the nutrition AND flavor.  I'm sure you've tasted some of the flavor-less tomatoes in the stores these days.  Best of all, the tomatoes won't go bad!  It's a win-win all the way around!  Click on my link below to get yours today!

How Thrive Foods is Changing Lives!

I shouldn't be amazed when I hear comments like the one below, but I am.  How about joining the revolution, saying 'good-bye' to unhealthy fast-food and 'welcome' to healthy eating at home, saving money and spending more time with family around the table!

Recently, someone wrote about Thrive: "This product is mine. It's made it possible for me to begin relearning how to cook... and eat again. My life is going to be more than ice cream and depression."
